Emperor Textured Basecoat

Any bare or previously painted masonry and render, including brick, stone, cement and render, where a textured finish is required.

All surfaces must be dry, clean, sound and free of contaminants. Cracks and holes greater than 0.5mm need to be repaired with a suitable masonry filler. Allow any filler to dry thoroughly for minimum 24 hours. Emperor Textured Basecoat is self-priming and does not require a primer.

Brush or textured roller.

Thoroughly stir before use. Apply using a paint brush or paint roller. Using either a light, medium or rough textured roller will help create different finishes. Apply generously with a full brush or roller and avoid spreading too thinly. Once applied and left to dry, overcoat using Emperor Masonry Paint.

Touch dry in up to 4 hours 20°C. Recoatable in 24 hours at 20°C. Lower temperatures and higher humidity extend the drying time accordingly.

Must be stored in dry, frost free conditions preferably at room temperature.

When the temperature is below 5°C it should not be applied. Avoid applyging in direct sunlight when temperatures are above 25°C.

Clean equipment with warm soapy water.

Approx. 350-500 g/m2 per coat when creating a light texture. The heavier the texture, the lower coverage rate.
